Chase Bank Suck HOME

I just want to add my experience to the list. I decided to trade my old car on a new Honda Accord. The dealer encouraged me to lease it. So I did. I was directed to Chase Automotive Finance and the dealer handled the leasing arrangements. To make sure I made my payments on time I signed an agreement to allow Chase to arrange with my bank to withdraw the monthly lease payment directly from my account. Everything went great until the 36 months was up.
Chase sent me a notice inviting me to buy their car at the suggested fair market value at termination. I had some extra cash and decided not to purchase the old car, but rather to buy a new car.
Much to my surprise Chase removed a monthly payment from my bank account after the lease expired. They sent a local transporter agent to pick up my leased vehicle early one morning. Three men went over the exterior of the car while my husband watched. The car was in excellent condition and they could only find two very small scratches. They and we signed an acknowledgement of these two scratches. A few days later I got a billing from Chase for $300.00 for not purchasing the car. The fee was setforth in the lease contract under the heading "Early Termination". Of course I was not planning to terminate the lease early so did not realize the $300.00 was going to be charged just because I did not buy the car. Chase added an additional $770.00 for 12 dents and scratches they claim the car had. Then according to the lease they deducted $100.00 of this making the damages $670.00. Of course 10 of those dents and scratches did not exist. Then they added $41.88 on for taxes. As I say, the car was in excellent condition. I had driven it 15,000 miles less than the lease called for and always kept it in our garage.
I wrote the top Chase management complaining of this $1,011.88 charge. My husband came across this Chase complaint site and decided any complaint was a lost cause. He called and luckily managed to negotiate a $270.00 reduction with the leasing department and I quickly paid the bill. Later, true to form I received a letter from the Chase officers demanding full payment. They were unaware that the matter was settled by their underlings. I had pictures and witnesses that there were only 2 small scratches. However, they could have concocted up all kinds of mechanical defects and I could not have defended against that.
THEREFORE, MY ADVICE IS BE VERY CAREFUL ABOUT LEASING A CAR. MAKE SURE THE LEASING COMPANY IS ETHICAL AND TAKE A COPY OF THE LEASE HOME AND READ IT AND ASK QUESTIONS AND BY ALL MEANS DO NOT LEASE A CAR FROM CHASE MANHATTAN AUTOMOTIVE FINANCE, A DIVISION OF CHASE MANHATTAN BANK.
They are a large company and they know they can just run over the little customer, but I have a hunch, if this attitude continues, the little customer is going to one day fight back and put them out of business. This site is a good place to start!

I was forced to use Chase for an Auto loan.
One problem with Chase is that they use non-native English speaking people, that do not understand American English or can speak Americian English. When I am talking about money I want to know exactly what the terms of the loan are going to be.
Another problem is that the front desk people do not know anything about exact terms of the loan. I am told by a supervisor that the people that set up the loan application are not trained to know those things.
Other loan companies's application personnel do know exactly what the terms of the contract are at the time of application.
When I borrow money, I need to know the exact terms of the loan. I tried to do business with Chase Financial three different times.
Poor English + poor information = no bussiness with Chase.

Be aware of processing a new loan with Chase! We were scammed into believing that everything was okay and preapproved! Little did we know that our loan officer never even processed the loan! HUD is now involved in Atlanta, GA and very mad at what has transpired since Chase Manhattan recently bought an existing mortgage company here within the last month!
Beware and Be Safe!!! We lost our HUD house due to a "shady" loan officer and real estate agent!!! Especially, people of metro Atlanta beware.

Repo Man an De Gopher
Gopher is sitting in the garage with a tire iron waiting for de Repo Man. Gopher is very irate. This heinous crime against the Gopher began when Gopher had to crawl to get money from a New York bank, Chase Manhattan, to buy the move over Rover. All went well for 4 years and 11 months. It was the last payment that made no sense at all. You see, there was this automatic debit from the checking account that went on for 4 years and 11 months. Then Chase Manhattan says you must pay this last payment (I assume) by check. Gopher says this is ridiculous. However, Gopher knew that Chase was serious when they slapped another $15 of interest for no payment. Gopher sends a check for said amount to Chase Automotive Finance (accompanied by a few select statements).Three months pass. Chase ManHattan via the agent Catherine Ruiz says in essence - pay now or we will repo the car. Gopher calls, gets the corporate and royal run around. Gopher sends not one, but TWO checks by Certified US MAIL (and keeps photocopies! The total is $1800 to pay a $655 loan balance!By Gophers mathematics - story done. By Chase Automotive shady math, story nuh done. Here comes another letter! So I am sititng in the garage waiting for the Repo Man. I am calling my lawyer. I wan't damages. I am writing the Governor of New York's Consumer Affairs section and I am calling the scandal line Gopher Kay
P.S. The first check was deposited without malice - says Chase Shady ManHattan Automotive Finance (where doing business is quite unpleasant).I tell you it is a plot ... Rent the video - Repo Man - it is awesome.

Beware of the "Good Faith" Estimate Scam!
I recently had a good faith done for a home loan by a Chase Senior Loan Officer (came highly recommended by the Realtors) who stated that he could save me hundreds of dollars on closing costs when compared to two other good faiths I had previously secured. I was amazed until I realized that he had left out the appraisal fee from the closing cost line items (as he requested this up front), but which the other two good faiths had included. Some savings! Should I believe anything that Chase has to say.
Thank God for finding this site before I decided to go with them for a home loan. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you one and all. JS

Well, the tradition of sucky service continues with Chase Home Loans. Once you get put on autopay (automatic deduction from checking account)you no longer receive statements regarding your account.
AND because they sort of misrepresented how the loan payoff would work, if I continue to do the autopay thing for the term of my loan, I will have a balance due of 50% of the original loan.
I have called and called trying to get statements, tried to change my monthly autopay amount, etc., etc. to no avail.
It is quite obvious that they just want me to keep paying the minimum payment. This means MUCH more money for them. DON"T USE CHASE HOME LOANS!!

Sent a check to pay off an auto loan on 11/26. In spite of approximately 10 phone calls and 1 registered letter, but was not credited until 1/6. Of course, they are trying to charge me a couple of hundred bucks interest for the "late" payment.
They several times promised to call me back; and didn't.
They several times didn't have a record of prior calls and prior promises they made.
Nice people individually, but collectively they couldn't handle running an elevator!

I AM HOPING SOMEONE CAN HELP ME WITH A PROBLEM WITH CHASE'S AUTO LEASE DEPT. AFTER TURNING IN MY 1996 JEEP TO LEASE A NEW VEHICLE I PAID OFF THE EXISTING LEASE AND LEFT THE JEEP AT THE DEALER THAT I PURCHASED THE NEW CAR FROM APPROIMATLEY ONE MONTH LATER I GET A LETTER FROM CHASE STATING THAT I OWE $3853.30 FOR VARIOUS PROBLEMS WITH THE JEEP FIRST ONE BEING $200.00 FOR CLEANING THE CARPETS IN THE JEEP (WHAT HAPPENED TO NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR?)(AND JUST A TAD STEEP) AND ALSO $300.00 DISPOSITION FEE (YOU GIVE THEM THEIR CAR BACK SIX MONTHS EARLY, PAY FOR THE SIX MONTHS AND THEY WANT TO CHARGE YOU ON TOP OF IT ) THEN THEY GOT INTO BODY DAMAGE, $200.00 FOR A DENT ON THE HOOD(IT WAS THERE SO I HAD NO PROBLEM WITH THIS)THEN CAME THE BOMB $1502.70 FOR DAMAGE TO THE LEFT REAR DOOR (THRE WASN'T A SCRATCH ON THAT DOOR WHEN I LEFT THE DEALER)SO I CALLED CHASE AND TRIED TO EXPLAIN THAT THERE MUST BE SOME KIND OF MISTAKE I WAS TOLD THAT THE CAR HAD ALREADY BEEN REPAIRED, I COULDN'T UNDERSTAND HOW THIS WAS POSSIBLE. WELL TO TRY AND SHORTEN THIS I HAVE SPOKEN WITH ABOUT SIX DIFFERENT PEOPLE TRYING TO RESOLVE THIS AND WHILE I HAVE BEEN DOING THIS I WAS TOLD THAT THE DEBT HAD BEEN CHARGED OFF AND THAT IT WAS NOW ON MY CREDIT AS A BAD DEBT. MAYBE I WAS IGNORANT AS TO HOW TO HANDLE THE TERMINATION OF A LEASE BUT DONT WE AS CONSUMERS HAVE ANY RIGHTS AS FAR AS A COMPANY SUCH AS CHASE HAVING TO PROVE THAT THESE REPAIRS THEY ARE TRYING TO CHARGE ME FOR WERE REALY NECESSARY.
THE LAST COMMENT I GOT FROM THE RECOVERY DEPT. WAS EITHER PAY IT OR IT WILL GO TO A COLLECTION AGENCY.IT SURE SOUNDED LIKE A THREAT.
I THEN TRIED TO TALKED TO A SUPERIOR AND PROCEEDED TO GET REFERRED TO SIX EXTENSIONS FOR PEOPLE THAT WERE ON VACATIONWHOSE VOICE MAIL WOULD REFER YOU TO SOMEONE ELSE WHO WAS ON VACATION. THANX FOR THE SITE AND ANY INFO THAT ANYONE MAY BE ABLE TO OFFER, WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

Chase stands alone as the worst customer service organization I've ever dealt with. For 5 months, I've been attempting to re-establish (due to a change of address) automatic payment on my auto loan. Over this span of time, I've talked to 7 service representatives and two "supervisors". In each case, they are "sure" that it is straightened out...but it never is.Most recently, I was advised not to mail in the payment coupon, or I would be making a double payment (and I certainly did not trust them to be able to handle that correctly). Naturally, the automatic payment did not take place and I was subsequently charged a late fee and labeled a "late payer". When I talked to the service representative (Sheree), she told me that she couldn't help me because all their computer system were down...a fact that I confirmed was a lie by immediately calling the same number and talking to another service rep who stated the system had been fine all day. On four separate occasions, I've been promised return phone calls. I've never received one.
Frustrated beyond limits, I decided to pay Chase off and be done with them. I called USAA. The phone was answered immediately by a real person, who issued the loan (at a much better interest rate), established automatic payment, and paid my Chase loan for me...all in less than 10 minutes. I'll laugh if anyone ever suggests I bank with Chase again.

Chase sucks the kind of suck that's never before been sucked.....
Just got off the phone with a woman from collections who told me I was two months back on a car payment and they were looking to repossess. I gave her an automatic payment authorization and asked why I had not received anything in writing. She swore they had sent me "lots". Never had a problem with my mail before.. This ignorant, abusive hag wants to take my car without even dropping me a line. I've never been treated so shabbily in my life.
The car will be paid off shortly and my business with these obnoxious weenies will be over forever. Chase sucks!!!!!!
